Benjamin’s Bags is a program created by Kiwanis of Union City, Tennessee. The program provides duffle bags, suitcases, or backpacks to children in the foster system. Many of these children keep all their possessions in trash bags when they move to a new foster home. Benjamin’s Bags seeks to provide some dignity for these children. The program is named after Benjamin Eaton, the first child put in the foster system, in 1636. Since it is a Kiwanis program the colors had to match their branding kit.
